Central Community

As it’s name would suggest, this is the central area of the City of Ottawa and is the commercial and economic centre of the city. The population of this area is less than 5000 since most of the space is used for non-residential purposes. It is bordered by Gloucester Street to the North, Bronson Avenue to the East, the Ottawa River to the South, and the Rideau Canal to the West.

Centretown is a neighbourhood within the central ward of Somerset in Ottawa. It’s borders are Gloucester Street and Lisgar street to the North, The Rideau Canal to the East, The Queensway to the South, and Bronson Avenue to the West. With a population of over 23,000, the community is a mix of residential and commercial properties. Most of the community is made up of original single family homes but more and more infill properties, townhouses, and apartments are popping up.
